Friends-
This Thursday night, LOOKOUT will host its first listening session, where we get to meet you, our readers, to talk about issues important to you.
We will be discussing LOOKOUT’s overall vision, as well as our current and ongoing coverage. LOOKOUT is not a regular non profit newsroom. Its small team of writers and editor (we only have one, for now) recognize that mission-driven journalism is different from the legacy news media. They know there are problems, because they live and work and interact within our community. And they want to help solve them.
You won’t find that in any other newsroom, trust me.
To do that, LOOKOUT needs to hear from more than just other non profit groups. We need to hear from business owners, large and small, renters and homeowners, the unhoused population, parents, students. True to our mission: wherever we exist, we need to be seen AND heard.
For our first listening session, we are being generously hosted by our friends at The New Times’ office building on 12th Street and Jefferson Road, in their conference room on the second floor. Light food and beverage will be provided.
Attendance is free, but space is limited! Be sure to RSVP on Eventbrite and get your ticket here.
